Burnt Crumbs Opens in Irvine and Huntington Beach

Posted by on Feb 23, 2017 in Dining News, Events | 0 comments

Burnt Crumbs, the newest handcrafted sandwich concept, from the owners of the popular food trucks, The Burnt Truck and Dogzilla as well as the brick and mortar, Burntzilla, have recently opened two locations in Orange County. Longtime followers and new guests alike can now enjoy their signature gourmet sandwiches, that the owners hope will evoke childhood memories, in a modern and contemporary setting. Every sandwich from their meats to their sauces is created by Chef and Owner Paul Cao, who focuses on using ingredients that are made in-house. Cult-like favorites on their menu include the Spaghetti Grilled Cheese with pressed spaghetti, fresh mozzarella, sourdough bread and marinara sauce; Crispy Pork made with a pork shoulder, salsa verde, chili lime mayo, cracklings and house ciabatta, and Southern Fried Chicken made with buttermilk fried chicken, garlic potato spread, country gravy and Sriracha honey. The operating partners are no strangers to Irvine because it is where they grew up as childhood friends before launching their successful restaurant group, The Burnt Group. Even the playful name dates back to Cao’s college career when his roommates would ask him to create his signature–and only–dish, which was burnt spaghetti. Years later, the name still has a lot of meaning amongst the owners who believe in putting out a great...
