Ocean Breezes and Delicious Bites at Las Brisas

 We dined as a guest of the venue We were recently invited to Las Brisas in Laguna Beach to sample some new items from their Patio Menu. Hmm, summertime evening, taking in the coastline and enjoying the iconic restaurant? Absolutely! Upon our arrival we were thrilled to discover a favorite local chef of ours, Johannes Bernau, he is overseeing their menu, sampling new items with the guests and introducing dishes that are more seasonal.  We dined as a guest of the venue Summertime makes us want to play outside and spend less time in the kitchen, which leads us to look for healthier choices when eating out. On a recent evening, we were a guest at Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s new location in Mission Viejo to try a few items from their menu of wraps, bowls and flatbreads. We loved their slogan of “Eat Better, Feel Better” when we arrived. We were in the mood to share a couple of things. The Caribbean Jerk Chicken Bowl grabbed our attention right away; with seasoned black beans, pineapple salsa, romaine, cheddar, jerk sauce and cilantro lime rice.  We dined as a guest of the venue We recently had the pleasure of attending El Torito Grill in Irvine and sampling their new Cantina Menu. We’re here to tell you, you’re in for a nice surprise! Introducing a fresh fun menu and another new concept, First Friday’s each month. We can’t wait to return!   We were recently invited to Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill to hear about their restaurants in Orange County into Ventura as well as the future location in Portland, Oregon. Featuring both existing menu items as well as some tasty new dishes. Sharky’s launched in 1992 featuring a healthier spin on mexican food. Many of us are conscientious about what we put into our bodies so it was refreshing to know of another local choice that keeps it real.  We attended as a guest Savor Santa Ana is one our new favorite events and we were excited to be invited back after attending in the Fall of 2014. It’s really a treat to be in a downtown city environment in Orange County and witness first hand the cool vibe that takes over during this event. Welcoming the icy, refreshing beverages placed in our hands we were headed out for our stroll through the city blocks on a lovely summer evening. We began taking in the culture, the old architecture, the various venues and the variety of live outdoor music as we meandered through revitalized district sidewalks of Santa Ana.  We attended as a guest of Tender Greens What a perfect summer evening to be a guest at Tender Greens and Barley Forge Pig Roast and Crawfish Boil! Delicious! This sold out event had guests seated in a family-style environment on the outside covered patio of Tender Greens at the Irvine Spectrum. I for one appreciate family style seating for these occasions, it allows for sharing a meal with others who can become friends, hearing about their adventures and stories while embracing new flavors together. Eclectic Dining at Savor Santa Ana

 We attended as a guest of Savor Santa Ana If you want something eclectic, fun and are up for exploring; plan to visit the next Savor Santa Ana! It is a great laid back evening filled with sampling featured menu items, cool tunes and stocking up on fruits and vegetables. Take a few hours, stroll the local art district and discover some lovely hidden treasures. I found a few new favorites; definitely going back. There were about 20 participating businesses and restaurants; we enjoyed pallet pleasing items like the jalapeno fries, a ceviche tostada, fried chicken, gorgonzola whip on french bread and an out of this world rum cocktail with a macaron that accompanied it.
