Dining Guide for Families in Orange County

The Best Fast-Casual Pizza at Pizza Rev

Posted by on Jul 2, 2015 in Italian, Reviews | 0 comments

We dined as a guest of Pizza Rev I know that there are a lot of build-your-own fast-casual pizza places popping up all over Orange County recently with the promise of pizza in less than 5 minutes. After having the chance to dine at Pizza Rev in La Habra, I now know that not all of these places and concepts are created equal. When I arrived at Pizza Rev with my younger son, I immediately noticed how clean and modern the dining area was. The La Habra location also has outside seating with a fire pit, for those that enjoy eating outdoors. I entered the restaurant and got a chance to view the assembly line where all of the ingredients are available for customers to create custom pizza creations. If you are not feeling like creating your pizza, don’t...

Farrell’s Introduces New Halloween Themed Food

Posted by on Oct 9, 2014 in American, Featured, Reviews | 0 comments

We dined as a guest of Farrell’s Things are frightfully delicious this month at Farrell’s with their two new Halloween themed menu items. Last night, my son and I went on shopping for our Halloween costumes and ended the evening with dinner together at Farrell’s in Mission Viejo. Since we were in the spirit of the season, we couldn’t resist ordering the two new menu items for dinner. We started with the massively huge Frank’N’Burger. The burger featured a 1/2 pound fresh Angus patty, 2 beef franks, 2 strips of bacon, fried egg, American cheese, onion strings, jalapeños, Farrell’s sauce, and a Jacobs ladder pickle on top. The enormous burger is big enough to satisfy Frankenstein’s appetite, and my son and I were in cheeseburger paradise. While I never would have thought that a hot dog mixed with a...

Old Spaghetti Factory 45th Anniversary Celebration

Guss and Sally Dussin opened the first Old Spaghetti Factory in Portland Oregon on January 10, 1969, with the knowledge that honesty, dignity, respect, the hard work, and guest satisfaction were the recipe for dinning success. Over the past 45 years, this belief has helped the Dussin family expand to 41 Old Spaghetti Factory locations in 15 states. With my wife away for a few days, I was looking for some dining options and decided I would take the kids to Newport Beach to dine at the Old Spaghetti Factory on Balboa Blvd. When I was a teen in high school, I used to work at a pizza place across the street, and I have many fond memories of  ordering Spaghetti Factory pasta while I was working. Where else is a trolley set up as an area to...

Creating Holiday Memories at Whole Foods Newport Beach

Posted by on Dec 18, 2013 in Breakfast, Events, Featured, Holidays | 0 comments

The holidays are a time for creating memories with the special people in your life. One of my favorite memories as a young child was going to breakfast with Santa with my Grandfather. When I learned that Whole Foods Newport Beach was hosting a breakfast with Santa, I could not wait to start creating the same memories I shared with my Grandfather with my children. When we arrived, the very friendly Whole Foods staff welcomed us, and then guided us to our table. We then enjoyed some healthy pastry items that were available to us before breakfast. While savoring the flavors of our pastries and juice, each person got a personal visit from the store General Manager George Khoury. Mr. Khoury arrived at our table and welcomed us to his store and thanked us for coming to the...
