Bacon and Garlic Rainbow Swiss Chard Recipe
While spending some time at my favorite farm in Laguna Beach, Alegria Farms, I brought home some fresh Rainbow Swiss Chard. Since Alegria grows all of their produce using vertical hydroponics, they are able to produce some the biggest, freshest and healthiest vegetables 3x faster than conventional gardening. The rainbow swiss chard was so fresh and delicious raw, and adding the flavors in this recipe made it even better.
Here is the yummy swiss chard recipe that I served to my family tonight along with a piece of lean chicken.
Ingredients:
2-3 large pieces of rainbow swiss chard
4 cloves of garlic
2 Tablespoons of olive oil
4 Slices of bacon
1/2 lemon
Directions:
Clean, dry and then chop the swiss chard.
Heat olive oil in a saucepan for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
Chop bacon into small pieces and then saute with garlic until the bacon is fully cooked.
Add swiss chard and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Serve warm with a lean piece of protein.
Made this today and it was excellent. Added an onion to it for a little more flavor. Delicious!!
