Celebrate National Cheeseburger Day at The Filling Station

Posted by on Sep 18, 2013 in American, Best of OC, Featured, Reviews | 0 comments

Oh how I love cheeseburgers…let me count the ways. Tender ground sirloin, topped with creaming melted cheese..there is nothing better. Today, we celebrate one of my favorite foods for National Cheeseburger Day. I have had some great cheeseburgers around Orange County, but over the weekend, I found one of my favorite burgers at The Filling Station. Where is The Filling Station? Right in the heart of Old Towne Orange. I’ll be honest that I never knew that this place ever existed. If I had not gotten a recommendation from my editor at OC Register Family, I never would have known that this hidden gem existed. If you are not looking for it, you would probably drive right past it. It is located right on the corner of N Glassell and West Maple Street right down the street from...

Family Entertainment at Pirate’s Dinner Adventure

Posted by on Aug 26, 2013 in American, Best of OC, Reviews, Travel | 0 comments

Providing fun and rich family entertainment is second nature to Pirate’s Dinner Adventure in Buena Park.  With enough seating for 760 guests, they know how to put on a show guaranteed to entertain! In late June, Pirate’s Dinner Adventure launched a new show, “Rise of the Sea Dragon”, that features a comedic pirate Captain Sebastian the Black and his crew.  Throughout this dining experience, guests set sail with them and confront the enemy sea dragon head on.  Guests can arrive early for their show and enjoy beverages prior to as the pirate mood is set. Be prepared to laugh and have your children and yourselves participate in this fun-filled show. Sword play, special effects and life sized dragons will not disappoint. We were pleasantly surprised by the acrobatics incorporated into the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure show.  The skill level...

Family Celebrations at The Anaheim White House

Posted by on Aug 22, 2013 in Best of OC, Italian, Reviews | 0 comments

Oh the joys of being a foodie at the Anaheim White House Restaurant (AWH)! My first visit was a celebration of my mother’s birthday. We are a foodie family, and that means our world and special celebrations always revolve around, you got it, food! We love finding new restaurants together to bond over delicious flavorful foods. Many times we decide where to go on vacation based around what new restaurants we can discover. I was excited I had the opportunity to experience the Anaheim White House again. It is no surprise that the Anaheim White House has received many awards and continues to be named a must go to restaurant in Orange County (Especially around the Christmas holidays, with falling snow). This second trip to Anaheim White House did not disappoint. I even stopped a new diet for...

The Best Irresistible Treat at Disneyland Resort

Posted by on Aug 20, 2013 in Best of OC, Disney, Reviews | 0 comments

We attended as guests of Disney Living in Orange County my entire life, I have grown-up creating special memories with my family at Disneyland Resort. I do, however, have a confession to make – that I have never had a Dole Whip. Shocking I agree, but my parents were very strict about sugar intake for my sister and I when we were children, so our visits to Disneyland never involved caramel apples, ice cream or the famous Dole Whip. It was not until I was visiting Walt Disney World, with my family this past Spring that my lips wrapped around the spoon of my first Dole Whip. After the Disney Social Media Moms Conference at Walt Disney World, we extended our family vacation at the Disney Polynesian Resort where we discovered a self-serve Dole Whip machine. The kids and...

For family -friendly dining, we would recommend Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, Daphne’s, and Mi Casa Restaurant and Bar. Posted by on Aug 17, 2013 in Best of OC, Featured | 0 comments

Riviera Magazine hosted Live and Dine 2013 Chef’s Challenge last week bringing together the top chefs in Orange County.  These top chefs presented their best culinary creations at SoCo in Costa Mesa and worked to gather the most votes from those of us who attended. This year’s event included some phenomenal participants such as Arc, The Iron Press, Portola Coffee Bar, Shuck Oyster Bar, The Cheese Shop, Theorem, We Olive and Wine Bar, and Seventh Tea Bar. My personal favorite came from Wildfire Seafood Grille…their pan seared jumbo sea scallops with corn & ginger puree, cilantro gastrique and gremolata seasoned popcorn were outstanding.  The texture was balanced and the popcorn offered a nontraditional presentation that complimented is perfectly.  The popcorn provided some subtle structure to the dish. Roy’s Hawaiaan Fusion was also present serving some delicious cocktails and seafood. Chef...

The Best Huevos Rancheros in Orange County

Posted by on Jul 19, 2013 in Best of OC, Breakfast, Featured, Reviews | 0 comments

When the Grandparents asked to take the kids out for breakfast, my husband and I were left with a quiet morning along at home. Whenever we don’t have the kids at night, we have a huge list of places that we love to go but very few ideas for “day dates” except The Montage Laguna Beach. The resort not only has the best grounds to stroll around together with your spouse, but also has the best Huevos Rancheros in Orange County at The Loft Restaurant. When we first arrived at The Montage Laguna Beach, we immediately felt relaxed. With their surrounding panoramic ocean views, lush grounds, and excellent service, it was the best “day date” we could have ever wanted. We were brought to an intimate table for two on the patio overlooking the ocean. The breakfast menu...
