Fresh Mediterranean Food at Garbanzo in Aliso Viejo

Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill is a fresh new eatery located at The Commons at Town Center in Aliso Viejo.

The restaurant is set up like many of our favorite eateries. First you choose how you want your meal: salad, plate, pita, or laffa (similar to a burrito or wrap). You then select all the ingredients for your meal including a variety of veggies, rice, meats, spreads and sauces.

There’s a variety of sides, desserts, and drinks to choose from along with soup and kabobs. Kids meals are also available. You are even welcome to sample any of their offerings by simply saying “Please”. The owner, Bill, was so kind and offered suggestions for my meal and when I asked him about catering options he was both informative and accommodating.

The chicken laffa I had was both delicious and filling. With Bill’s assistance I chose two sauces: Tatziki (a creamy yogurt based sauce) and the Cilantro Sauce (to add a mild spicy flavor). The flavors were bold and the veggies were crisp and fresh. I left feeling full, but not guilty – my meal was about 580 calories.

If you find yourself in need of a bite to eat next time you’re near Aliso Viejo Town Center – try out Garbanzo. I whole-heartedly recommend it especially for a nice change of pace – you can even stop by for a “working meal” as they offer free wifi and the booths even have electrical outlets so you can “plug in” while you dine.

Garbanzo is located at 26541 Aliso Creek Road in Aliso Viejo.
