Lucha Libre Taco Shop in San Diego
Where is the coolest place to have tacos in Southern California? Lucha Libre Taco Shop!
While I was in San Diego for the weekend with the kiddos, I wanted to take them somewhere fun for lunch. With all the hype surrounding this popular taco joint, I decided to bring them to Lucha Libre for lunch.
Parking was not easy to find with the restaurant being located right next to a freeway entrance, but that didn’t stop us from finally scoring a spot. Once we had battled the parking challenge came the next challenge of waiting in a line that wrapped around the corner of the building.
Just when I thought my kids were going to completely melt down, we finally made it inside to place our order, and realized that it was worth the wait. It was indeed one of the coolest restaurants we have ever visited with fun wall to wall wrestling memorabilia. The kids were snapping pictures the entire time we were in the restaurant before getting a table on the outdoor patio.
When it came to ordering, everyone we talked to in line recommended the surf & turf burrito. All of the Lucha Libre fans did not steer me wrong. The massive burrito came filled with steak, shrimp, rice, avocado, pico de gallo, and secret sauce. The restaurant did not skimp on the amount of steak and shrimp, and it was paired perfectly with their freshly made salsa.
My little food allergy diner played it safe by ordering a plain quesadilla and enjoyed the all-you-can-eat chips and salsa bar.
My daughter was little more adventurous and tried the queso taco. The taco comes with your choice of steak or chicken on top of fried cheese, avocado and secret sauce – oh my! She devoured every bite of the taco and wished the line wasn’t so long so that she could go back to order a second.
Not only does this restaurant have the coolest vibe in San Diego, but it also has incredibly delicious food. It will definitely become your kids new favorite place to stop for lunch while in the San Diego area.
