We dined as a guest of the venue

March Madness is in full effect, and Islands is offering some delicious dishes that will satisfy your cravings while watching the big game. NCAA fans are encouraged to come to the lively bar at your local Islands and cheer on your favorite teams while taking advantage of their slam dunk specials.

When we went to Islands this week, the bar was full of sports fans sipping on Coors light and munching on the popular Islands hot dogs. With all the times that we have dined at Islands, I couldn’t believe that I have never tried one of their hot dogs before. I headed over to the bar to find out what I had been missing, and after one bite, I was in love.

Nalu Nalu Dog

Of course, I had to try both of the hot dogs. The Nalu Nalu Dog came inside of a soft bun and was topped with a roasted garlic aioli, sautéed onion, red and green bell peppers, deli pepper rings and melted Swiss cheese. It was one of the most unforgettable hot dogs that I have sunk my taste buds into, and when paired with a 16oz Coors Light, it was even better. After half time, I refueled with the chili cheese, Pipeline Dog, and another beer. Did I mention that the hot dog and beer are just $8.95 during March Madness? Score!

While I was watching the game on the multiple screens in the bar, my husband was putting their newest Sriracha Smack burger to the test. The burger featured a juicy patty, Sriracha cream cheese, lettuce, onions, pickled peppers, pepper jack cheese, bacon, and a soy-Sriracha glaze. The sweet and spicy burger packed the perfect amount of heat, and my husband was left wishing that it wasn’t only available for a limited-time.

When the game went into overtime, we couldn’t resist not having some of Island’s famous cheddar fries. When the crispy fries topped with cheddar cheese are dipped in their secret recipe ranch dressing, it is pure bliss. As a bonus, fans can score their favorite appetizers like the cheddar fries in the bar area Monday through Friday for just $4.75 during happy hour (4-7pm).
