Mimi’s Cafe Launches French Menu

We attended a media preview at Mimi’s so we could share this new menu with you.

Mimi’s Cafe is returning to their French roots on October October 7th as they launch a new French menu.   This menu consists of three appetizers and eleven new dishes that celebrate what everyone has grown to love about Mimi’s since 1978 along with improvements new customers want to see.  With so many dishes to try, the new French menu has something for everyone.

There are many amazing items to try on Mimi’s menu, but the appetizer that tops my list from the new French menu is the Baked Brie with Apricot Chutney.  The apricot chutney offered the perfect amount of sweetness and texture over the French baguette topped with warm brie and apple slices. This delicious appetizer won over many of us making it a great choice if you are dining as a couple, family, or with friends.

The new French menu features a range of dishes including Pasta Carbonara ala Mimi’s which is fresh linguine tossed with diced prosciutto, aged Parmesan, peas and a light chardonnay sauce, which is then topped with a fried egg.  The presentation of this dish makes for a great conversation starter and was enjoyed by those that had it during this event.

The Bistro Bavette Steak offers a French-styled grilled steak aside au gratin potatoes that are infused with a mushroom.  Paired with seasoned vegetables and your choice of bordelaise or Bearnaise sauce, this dish is great for those desiring more protein.

The Mimi’s Signature Bouillabaisse is a dish that I would not normally order, but really enjoyed.  Mussels, shrimp, and scallops are paired with potatoes and tomatoes and lightly simmered in white wine to enhance the flavors.  The French baguette croutons tasted delicious when dipped in the warm sauce.

Another dish offered on Mimi’s new French menu is Pasta Carbonara ala Mimi’s….a fresh linguine tossed with diced prosciutto, aged Parmesan, peas and a light chardonnay sauce, which is then topped with a fried egg.

In case you missed it, Mimi’s also launched a new breakfast menu earlier this month on September 9th.  At the recommendation of Mimi’s Cafe Executive Chef Katie Sutton, we sampled two incredible waffles that you truly must try.  Being the fruit lover I am, I was so excited to try the Strawberry Pardue waffles which were incredible.  But the waffle that topped my list is the Bacon Apple Waffles…warm bacon and apples over a warm waffle topped with sweet syrup.  The sweet and salty tastes paired together were perfect and caught many of us by surprise.

Mimi’s Cafe has over 140 locations in 24 states; to experience the full offering of their French menu please visit their website to find the location nearest you.
