Stonefire Grill Offers Seven For Seven Lunch Specials
We dined as a guest of the venue
Looking for a great lunch deal? Stonefire Grill’s new “seven for $7 Lunch Specials menu gives you a great reason to add their fast casual restaurants to your weekly rotation. If you’re not familiar with Stonefire Grill, this small chain with eight locations, two of which are in Orange County, is known for its simple, fresh quality ingredients with a focus on grilled meats. Its restaurants are budget friendly, family friendly and gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and low-carb friendly. In other words, there is a decided focus on what their customers are looking for.
Last week I was invited to lunch at Stonefire Grill’s Irvine location at Jamboree and Culver. I brought my mom along and I’m glad I did. She had a lot to say about a few of their dishes. While the restaurant offers a full menu of salads, pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, sides and as well as grilled chicken, tri tip, baby back ribs, shrimp, and salmon, oh and let’s not forget their desserts, we were there mainly to try the lunch specials.
The lunch specials menu, offers: A petite salad of your choice plus breadstick… petite at Stonefire means serves one; a petite salad of your choice with salmon and breadsticks; chicken tortilla soup with salad and breadstick; petite pesto and breadstick; a nine inch one-topping pizza and salad; a BBQ chicken, pulled pork or BBQ beef sandwich and side dish; a petite chicken breast, salad or side and a breadstick; And beverages at $1.49 which of course, are refillable at the fountain.
So what did we order? Well we ordered way more than we could eat that’s for sure. My mom ordered the petite chicken breast. Offered as BBQ or lemon garlic, she chose lemon garlic with a side of their Nutty Coleslaw. This was my favorite dish. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the slaw, light with no mayo and instead a vinaigrette. This would be my go to dish on their Lunch Specials menu hands down. I love when I can eat guilt free for lunch and still get tons of flavor and this delivers that.
I ordered the lemon garlic salmon served atop their Cartwheel salad of mixed greens, black olives, fresh beets, garbanzo beans, tomato, radishes and tortilla strips with cilantro vinaigrette. Another light dish. The salmon can also be ordered with a sesame glaze. Don’t quote me on this, but I bet they’d put this on their Asian Salad of mixed greens, mandarin oranges, scallions, red peppers, snow peas, wontons, toasted almonds and sesames seeds with sesame ginger dressing for you. That would be delicious!
We also ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup topped with Jack cheese, cilantro, avocado and tortilla chips with a petite Greek salad of mixed greens, feta cheese, Kalamata olives, cucumbers, green peppers, tomato, radishes, red onion and olive oil vinaigrette.
And for the dessert lover? Well, we tried their Famous Fudge Brownie which was according to my mom, “the most delicious thing she’s ever had” and their Incredible Carrot Cake, the other “most delicious thing” she’s ever had. I’m not much of a dessert eater, but I can vouch for the chewy moist chocolaty goodness of the brownie and the truly incredible moistness of their carrot cake.
Outside of the fast food world, it’s not easy these days to eat on the cheap in Orange County, but Stonefire Grill offers a fresh menu with delicious options, many on the healthy side, that don’t break the bank.
