Dining Guide for Families in Orange County

Sunday Brunch at Solita in Huntington Beach

We dined as a guest of Solita

Bring your family together for Sunday brunch at Solita in Huntington Beach. Solita is putting a twist on traditional Sunday brunch and it’s perfect for families who are looking for a different dining experience.

Parents are invited begin their meal with a rainbow mimosa bucket. You’ll start by selecting four flavor choices to be blended with sparkling wine in a crystalline champagne flute. There is watermelon, guava, mango, strawberry, pomegranate and pineapple flavors. Sip on these sweet flavors of the rainbow while sharing your favorite family memories from the past week.

For parents who want a more traditional cocktail there is also a bloody mary, sangria and traditional mimosas available on the brunch menu..but why be ordinary when your meal can be extraordinary by sipping on one of their unique craft cocktails.

While in Mexico this past summer, one of my favorite breakfast dishes was the chilaquiles. Now, I don’t have to travel all the way to Mexico to experience the unique flavors from this traditional Mexican breakfast with it being available on the Solita brunch menu. The chilaquiles is made with corn tortillas, onions, red or green salsa (I recommend the red), scrambled eggs, cotija cheese, crema and pico de gallo. Expand on the flavors of this popular breakfast dish by requesting to have them add chorizo.

Another dish that your children will devour is the huevos rancheros. The traditional Mexican breakfast dish is made with corn tortillas, black beans, eggs, ranchera salsa, melted cheese, avocado and cotija cheese. When ordering the dish for kids who don’t like a little spice I would recommend ordering it with the ranchera salsa on the side. It will taste just like a layered breakfast quesadilla and you’ll not have to worry about your kids complaining about any spices.

End your dining experience by sharing a piece of their decadent berry cinnamon bread pudding. This breakfast dessert is made with brown sugar, fresh berries and cinnamon. It is served with a drizzle of warm agave syrup, and topped with brown sugar sour cream sauce and whipped cream. The sinfully delicious dessert is large enough for your family to share, but don’t be surprised if your kids start begging you to order another serving.

Solita also offers traditional brunch dining options including eggs and bacon, fruit plate with greek yogurt and a breakfast burrito.

Sunday brunch is available every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. Solita is located at 7631 Edinger Ave #1508 in Huntington Beach (inside the Bella Terra shopping center). When planning to dine when the weather is warm, I recommend making reservations to dine on their outdoor patio.
