The cooking classes this month will feature cooking with chocolate, grilling with Dad, and more.
Cooking with Chocolate

Chocolate lovers, rejoice! This tasty and informative hands-on cooking class focuses exclusively on your favorite ingredient. We’ll explore the different kinds of chocolate and create both savory and sweet dishes. In addition, you will learn how to grind your own spices; sear a steak to perfection; tricks of cooking with dry chilies; and creating baked custards. Enjoy a generous tasting of: Wilted Spinach, Chocolate and Blackberry Salad – Chicken Mole Tacos – Cocoa and Porcini Crusted Tenderloin with Port and Chocolate Sauce – Chocolate Pot de Crème with Cocoa Nib Cream.
Learning to Grill with Dad

Spend your Father’s Day learning to grill with Dad! Create family-friendly favorites while sharing your love of grilling. Celebrating Summer on the Grill

Let’s celebrate this season’s bountiful harvest of fresh fruits and vegetables featuring summer’s number one cooking tool… the grill. We’ll share tips for the backyard barbecue or inside on the stovetop, but with a gourmet twist that will keep your friends and family coming back for seconds. In addition you will learn how to grill fruits and vegetables, make your own BBQ sauce, and the ease of making ice cream from scratch. Enjoy a generous tasting of: Grilled Bruschetta with Fresh Pea Puree and Shaved Pecorino – Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Ancho-Honey Barbecue Sauce – Barbecued Corn and Tomato Salad with Oregano Vinaigrette – Grilled Balsamic Peaches with Ceylon Cinnamon Mascarpone Ice Cream.
Cooking class are a hands-on experience with a trained Chef Instructor. Classes are held in Surfas’ state of the art Test Kitchen with a maximum of 10 people in attendance. Wine may be purchased at the Epicurean Center and brought into class. Customers will receive a special discount of 10% off small wares and 5% off food purchases. Recipes will be provided and a generous tasting of each dish will be enjoyed. An equipment list will be available to assist in replicating the dishes at home.
