A Patio With a View At Bluewater Grill Redondo Beach

We dined as a guest of the venue


There are few things I appreciate more than enjoying seafood and sipping a cocktail while overlooking a fantastic view. On a recent beautiful evening, we were invited to check out Bluewater Grill’s newly renovated patio and restaurant in Redondo Beach.


Living in San Clemente, it’s been a while since I’ve been to Bluewater Grill in Redondo and I was really curious as to what they would have in store with their recent updates. We started in their new outdoor lounge and patio area, overlooking King Harbor Marina, where we enjoyed some wine and cheese. The patio features a relaxing vacation like ambiance, with strings of outdoor lighting, tables for dining, and a lounge area with a fire pit. It’s even Fido friendly, offering up treats on the patio for our furry friends. It really is happy hour heaven and I could just imagine enjoying some of their small plates in this perfect setting, with Fido of course.


A sip of wine, a bite of cheese and on to the restaurant itself we went, where several updates have been made as well to a space, formerly reserved for events, that has been converted to tables overlooking the harbor for daily dining. And in the center of the dining room, there’s a bar serving up your favorite cocktails. We had Margaritas.


A little further back is the new oyster and seafood bar. We enjoyed an oyster shooter. I could do a dozen of these and call it a night, but I controlled myself and settled for one… though I have to admit to contemplating swiping someone’s order of a dozen oysters on the half shell.



We were then led even further back to The Captains Table, a room perfect for special events with a fireplace and wall to wall windows overlooking the marina.






Finally, one flight up, we were led to a wonderful open space, the Avalon Room, overlooking the harbor where we enjoyed dishes by Chef Nick Padilla and Executive Chef Jason Mazur. The perfect space for a special event.

Bluewater Grill is open for lunch and dinner daily and offers brunch on Sundays, a happy hour small plates menu Monday through Friday, and a Healthy Kid’s Program menu.
