Dining Guide for Families in Orange County

Kids Love The Pizza Press in Orange

We dined as a guest of the pizza press

Our kids love pizza, and one of their new favorite places is The Pizza Press in Orange. While my son was competing in the grilled cheese competition at Provisions Market earlier this month, we stumbled upon this newly opened pizza place next door. There was a line of people out the door, and the aroma surrounding the restaurant tantalized our taste buds. When we found ourselves with a night when Dad was working late, the kids and I jumped into the car and drove up to Orange to have dinner at The Pizza Press.

We timed our arrival perfectly and walked in when there was only a couple of people in line. We picked up a menu at the door and made our way to the counter where we could order our pizzas. The staff was extremely friendly and offered their recommendations off the menu. We were able to order for some signature pizzas or customize our personal pizza. The best part – they have a gluten-free crust!

There is nothing I love more than a white sauce pizza, so I immediately knew that I wanted to order “The Herald.” The pizza came topped with white sauce, mozzarella, chicken, cherry tomato, ricotta, red onion, mushroom, parmesan and fresh basil. It satisfied all my pizza desires, and quickly became one of my all-time favorite pizzas.

My daughter fell head over heels in love with “The Times.” Her pizza came with red sauce, mozzarella, chicken, cherry tomato, red onion, gouda, parmesan, cilantro and BBQ sauce. I recommend asking for an extra side of barbecue sauce because you’ll want to drizzle more on with every bite.

The pineapple pizza king (aka my son) ordered “The Sun.” The pizza has a unique twist on the traditional “Hawaiian” pizzas with red sauce, mozzarella, ham, bacon, cheddar, pineapple, cherry tomato, green onion, and parmesan. If you’re a Hawaiian-style pizza lover, then you’ll find a new found love with this pizza.

pizza8’re not going to want to leave without ordering their garlic bread. The cheesy garlic bread is a little bite of heaven.

We found that we all ended up sharing our different pizzas together, and paired them with a side of their pasta salad. While we were eating the line quickly started to form, and seemed like everyone in Orange County was coming to try The Pizza Press.

The restaurant has a variety of wine and craft beers on tap, and I don’t recommend leaving without trying an ice cream sandwich. Your family will feel comfortable in the relaxed dining environment, and on a warm summer afternoon plan to dine on their outdoor patio.

The Pizza Press is located at 155 N. Glassell Street in Old Towne Orange.
