Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt

We visited as a guest of Menchie’s

My family loves frozen yogurt. It doesn’t matter if it is 50 degrees or 100 degrees, we will drive anywhere for frozen yogurt. I recently found out about Menchie’s and decided to see if there were any locations close by. Score! There was a location 15 miles from us and we were out the door in 5 minutes flat (like I said we love frozen yogurt).

As you open the door of the brightly lit shop, the aroma of freshly made waffle bowls carries you away to the wall of yogurt. You are now in front of dozens of options for flavors to sample and then choose. I went with my staple choice of chocolate peanut butter cup and let me tell you Menchie’s was the creamiest by far.

Once I was done swirling my yogurt into the cup, I walked to the toppings section. Toppings bars are my least favorite part of the yogurt experience. I often wonder if people just stick their hands into the open space instead of using the scoops or even worse sneeze. I was so impressed to see that Menchie’s used smaller enclosed clear lidded containers with scoop attachments making it difficult for hands to grab the items or even sneeze on open toppings. They had a great selection of toppings as well as one that paired perfectly with my creamy yogurt, mini peanut butter cups!

Once I was done with my scooping I noticed that my husband and kids were also finished. While the kids and I opted for a more modest portion, my husband who couldn’t control himself after he smelled that freshly made waffle bowl, walked up to me with an eye popping creation.

My experience with yogurt shops are to get there before the crowd or you will have to eat out in the cold or in the car. This wasn’t the case at Menchie’s. The RSM location was a nice size and had plenty of seating even during their peak hours (which we landed in).

Usually when my kids are done with their yogurts we leave the store but Menchie’s had a chalk wall that the kids drew on and it was us who had to ask the children to leave. It was a novel idea having our kids color and having fun while we took our time eating and actually had a conversation.

As we were heading to the door I noticed a freezer section filled with pre-pack yogurt. What a great idea I thought, as I grabbed one for home. Menchie’s has four Orange County locations. You can find the closest one to you at their website I definitely will be going back for seconds soon!

I’m an OC mom of two and photographer. I love living in Southern California and want to expose my children to all that it offers. I love taking my kids on adventures and capturing their every moment so much so that my kids find it odd if I don’t take their pictures. You can see my work on
