Ocean Front Dining at Neptunes Beaches Turks and Caicos
We visited as part of the Beaches Moms Social Media on the Sand
When staying at Beaches Turks and Caicos, our family had a room in the Key West Village. One of the most popular restaurants in the village is Neptune’s. The restaurant has an al fresco dining atmosphere where guests can bask in the beautiful ocean views and cool breezes. One of our favorite meals at Neptune’s was lunch where we were paid a special visit from Elmo.
We started our meal by sharing the grilled eggplant and roasted garlic hummus with toasted pita bread. The hummus was perfectly paired with the Greek salad that featured fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, olives and feta with pressed olive jus.
The highlight of the first course was the “Carib Style” couscous. The dish featured curried couscous with coronation chicken, almonds, apples and raisins. It was the perfect dish to begin our epicurean adventure.
My older son enjoyed the shrimp kebab for his main course. The shrimp was seasoned with cayenne and coriander and served with french fries, celery and apple slaw. The dish had just the right amount of flavoring, and the cayenne did not add too much heat.
My husband was in fried fish heaven with the Saffron Fish in a basket. The meal came with a giant piece of fried saffron fish with a citrus herb batter. The fish was paired with fries and lemon tzatziki. It was his favorite meal during our stay at the resort.
The shish burger in a basket caught the attention of my younger son, and since he is our picky eater, we ordered it without the marinated cabbage harissa. The burger was tender, juicy and tantalized his taste buds.
To pair perfectly with the hummus and Greek salad, my daughter choose to have the Mediterranean chicken for lunch. The dish came with a lemon and garlic marinated chicken leg, and a honey dijon citrus vinaigrette drizzled on top. The chicken was paired with a large helping of sweet potato fries.
Finally, I enjoyed the grilled salmon with artichoke, green peas and leeks. The salmon was beautifully presented over a bed of aromatic couscous.
What would a meal at Beaches Turks and Caicos be without dessert? At every restaurant, we enjoyed a tasting of all the desserts on the menu including our dining experience at Neptunes.
Our favorite dessert was the savory flavors of the sugared doughnut with strawberry jam, vanilla syrup and whipped cream. The freshly fried doughnut was the perfect sweet treat to end our dining experience.
The other two desserts we sampled were the orange polenta cake and pineapple tagine. The orange polenta cake was made with honey, raisins and almond sabayon. While the Pineapple tagine included fresh pineapple, vanilla, anise, cardamom and cloves.
When your family plans a trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos, make sure and plan lunch at Neptune’s. You might even get a surprise visit from Elmo!
